Hanging stone in Nüziders

Sport climbing directly from the hotel

The historically significant "Hängender Stein" climbing garden is located directly in Nüziders. With walls up to 100 m high made of main dolomite and over 260 routes from beginner to expert level, it is one of the largest and oldest in Vorarlberg.

  • Suitable for: Beginners, pleasure climbers and advanced climbers

  • Route: Top rope or shorter multi-pitch routes (e.g. "Vierhauser", Köpfle) in the UIAA range 3+ to around 7-7+, with a focus on the medium difficulty range

  • Approach: flat path from the parking lot in Nüziders in approx. 3-5 min.

  • Special feature: multi-pitch routes on the so-called "Köpfle" with a view of the valley

  • Equipment: helmet, harness, rope, express and climbing shoes required

Climbing garden Bürs

Climbing route (single pitch, sport climbing)

The Bürs natural climbing garden is one of the best known in Vorarlberg - with over 120 routes, perfectly secured, in all levels of difficulty (from 3+).
The crags can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot from the center of Bürs.
Ideal in spring and autumn - the south walls dry out quickly.

Via ferrata Hochjoch (Montafon)

Via ferrata B | directly at the Sennigrat cable car

The Hochjoch via ferrata is ideal for beginners, children aged 10 and over and anyone looking for a safe introduction to rock climbing.

Via ferrata Saulakopf

Via ferrata B/C | approx. 45 min. approach

An absolute classic: the Saulakopf via ferrata offers panoramic views and a challenge at 2,516 m - for sure-footed beginners and experienced connoisseurs.
Start at the Douglasshütte at Lünersee - with access via a good hiking trail.

Klimmerei bouldering hall (Bürs)

Indoor bouldering | approx. 5 min. from the hotel

In the former ÖBB coach house, you will now find the largest bouldering hall in western Austria - on an area of 1,000 m² and with a modern training area. Without a rope, but with style.
Ideal for anyone who likes to stay strong - even in the rain.

K1 climbing hall Dornbirn

Indoor climbing hall | approx. 30 min. drive

The largest climbing hall in Vorarlberg - with over 2,000 m² of climbing area and routes for beginners and experts. Indoors and outdoors, with modern route construction, café and store.
Ideal in bad weather or as a workout in between.
